Principle Responsibilities
- Perform a variety of metal bonding assembly operations including cleaning, degreasing, braze processing, furnace heat-treating, inspecting, hand-finishing, packing, etc., in order to produce a variety of components to quality bonding requirements, working in accordance with company/customer specifications.
- Perform a variety of metal bonding assembly operations to make component parts and assemblies.
- Clean parts using ultrasonic degreasing equipment, cleaners and acid bath where specified.
- Utilize brazing gun to apply brazing material to metal parts or assembling brazing rings/parts to mating parts.
- Operate vacuum furnace to braze/heat-treat parts/assemblies which involves entering data into furnace computer control unit according to sequence listing for the difference parts/products.
- Utilize hydrogen furnaces to heat/braze various parts.
- Remove parts from furnaces, allow to cool and inspect for proper brazing.
- Conduct leak tests on parts as specified using helium/other test equipment.Perform hand finishing of parts such as cleaning, deburring, filing, wiping, etc., and pack items into plastic bags/containers.Â
- Perform related assembling/brazing operations as instructed or directed.’
- Refer problems to supervisor.
- Maintain necessary records.
- Move materials as necessary in performance of duties.
- Detect and report improper operation, faulty equipment, defective materials and unusual conditions to Supervisor.
- Maintain work area and equipment in clean, safe, and orderly condition.
- Follow established company rules, regulations and safety precautions, and maintain quality standards.
- Performs other duties or special projects as required or as assigned by supervisor.

Qualification Requirements
Credentials/Experience:
- Requires the use of arithmetic including decimals and fractions; simple use of blueprints, travelers, codes, identifications, where interpretation is required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Work from work orders, drawings, sketches, prints, furnace sequence instructions and verbal/written instructions from Supervisor.
- Work with metal bonding furnaces such as hydrogen and vacuum furnaces with control units, gauges, readouts and charts, brazing gun applicator, hand tools such as files, pliers, tweezers, deburring tools, degreasing tank, ultrasonic cleaner/degreaser, brazing compound, solvents, cleaners, packing material and related tools and equipment.
