Purpose:

To provide clinical and administrative leadership within the clinical department and the Wilmington Health organization

Essential Duties/Responsibilities: 

  • Maintains accountability for financial management of all clinical areas to include:
    • Development of annual operating and capital budgets
    • Monthly analysis of financial statements
    • Development of action plan to ensure operation within established budgetary parameters
  • Maintains responsibility for planning and decision making for all clinical areas to include:
    • Space planning
    • Budget planning
    • Staffing planning
    • Quality improvement planning
    • Project planning
  • Ensures efficiency of daily operations of all clinical areas.
  • Ensures high quality of care to patients, service to physicians, and relationships within and between departments. Includes:
    • Development of clinical pathways/guidelines/protocols
    • Measurement and improvement of patient satisfaction
    • Development of quality improvement efforts in collaboration with staff, providers and leadership team.
    • Systems evaluation and design in collaboration with other managers
  • Maintains patient confidentiality
  • Develops patient education materials, triage protocols, and clinical guidelines in collaboration with physicians
  • Uses computer system efficiently and accurately
  • Provides patient/staff education
  • Oversees staff and support services.
  • Maintains effective communication and interacts appropriately, effectively, and professionally with all members of health care team
  • Develops, plans and conducts regular staff and provider meetings, huddles and team activities to strengthen collaboration, improve patient outcomes, and foster a positive culture.
  • Lead and participate in organizational initiatives and committees. 
  • Responsible for interviewing, hiring, coaching, performance evaluation, corrective action, and staff termination. 

Other Duties:

  • Performs other duties and projects as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

Required: 

  • Associate’s Degree or Bachelor’s Degree
  • Minimum of two years clinical management experience.
