What are we looking for?Â
Our team is seeking personable and motivated Top Talent to support the company’s Fabrication Team as a Fabrication Operator located in our Wilmington, MA facility. The Fabrication Operator is responsible for producing finished goods in coordination with the Lead Fabrication Operator and at the direction of the Fabrication Supervisor. Their primary role is to ensure that all projects are being completed with the highest level of quality and in a timely manner. This role is designed to ensure each fabrication operator is cross-trained and able to rotate between stations, keeping skills sharp across all processes and machinery while maintaining operational redundancy.

 Responsibilities:
- Workflow Management: Follow workflow across the various aspects of the Fabrication process. Ensure that all projects are utilizing the proper and agreed upon workflow, and work to streamline the workflow when inefficiencies are identified.
- Technical Expertise: Maintain expansive and up-to-date information on the Fabrication department, current workflow procedures, product specifications, and any other technical information that relates to the Fabrication department.
- CNC Routing: Exercise proficiency in both CNC programing and the operation of CNC routers. Program job files from customer specifications that fit established technical specifications and ensure that quality meets departmental standards. Keep CNC routers well maintained, and maintain deep technical knowledge on the procedures, upkeep, operation, and safety regulations. Work with the Fabrication Supervisor for continuous improvement.
- Liquid Hard Coating: Be able to operate a liquid hard coater which entails; start up, shutdown, and cleanup. Machine runs sheets of our material through to provide a layer of protection.
- File Preparation: Prepare print files for printing using graphic design software and ensure that they are optimized for grand format printing. This includes checking for resolution, color profiles, and proper file formats.
- Printer Setup and Calibration: Prepare the grand format printer for printing by ensuring it is correctly set up and calibrated. This involves loading the appropriate print media, adjusting print settings, and verifying the color accuracy.
- Print Production: Operate grand format printers to produce high-quality prints, ensuring that the printed output meets the required specifications in terms of size, color, resolution, and overall quality.
- Quality Control: Perform regular quality checks to ensure that the prints meet the desired standards. This involves inspecting the prints for any defects, color inconsistencies, or printing errors.
- Material Handling: Manage and maintain an inventory of printing materials. Ensure that all materials are stored properly and are available when needed.
- Maintenance and Troubleshooting: Conduct routine maintenance on the grand format printing equipment to keep it in good working condition. Troubleshoot and resolve any technical issues that may arise during the printing process.
- Health and Safety: Adhere to safety guidelines and practices while operating the printing equipment and handling printing materials.
- Efficiency and Productivity: Strive to optimize printing processes to improve efficiency and reduce waste, thereby maximizing productivity and minimizing costs.
- Color Management: Understand color management process and implement Standard Operating Procedure at the direction of the Fabrication Supervisor to achieve accurate and consistent color reproduction across different print jobs.
- Upkeep of Work Area: Maintain a clean and organized work area, including the storage and disposal of printing materials and waste.
- Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:Â
- High School Diploma and AA or Equivalent from a recognized trade school.
- 2-years minimum work experience in operating grand format printers and using graphic design software.
- Experience working in the manufacturing industry.
- Working knowledge of CNC Routers. Concise understanding of CNC operation, logistics, upkeep, and other comprehensive information relevant to CNC Routers. Understanding of G-Code.
- Strong attention to detail and a trained eye for color accuracy.
- Ability to identify technical issues related to the printing process.
- Good communication skills to interact with clients and other team members effectively.
- Physical ability to handle printing materials and perform routine maintenance tasks.
- Time management skills to meet printing deadlines and manage multiple printing jobs simultaneously.
Hours of work: This is a full-time Monday-Friday position, with typical working hours being 7:00am – 4:00pm. Occasional variations in working hours may be required to meet inventory deadlines or accommodate business needs. Overtime or weekend work may be necessary in such cases.Â
Travel:Â No travel is expected with this position.
