Wilmington Family Dental is seeking a Dental Patient Coordinator to join our growing team. This unique position supports both Wilmington Family Dental and Precision Periodontics, our specialty practice located next door, providing variety and opportunities to expand your knowledge in both general dentistry and periodontics.

Your Role
As our Dental Patient Coordinator, you'll be the first impression for our practices while helping ensure every patient receives a seamless, personalized experience from their first phone call through completion of treatment.
Primary Responsibilities
- Welcome patients and create a warm, professional first impression
- Answer phones, schedule appointments, and manage provider schedules efficiently
- Check patients in and out while ensuring accurate demographic and insurance information
- Verify insurance benefits and explain coverage to patients
- Present treatment plans and review financial arrangements with confidence and compassion
- Coordinate patient financing and collect payments
- Process insurance claims, payments, and outstanding balances
- Maintain accurate electronic patient records and documentation
- Coordinate referrals and communication between general dentistry and the periodontal specialty office
- Monitor appointment schedules to maximize efficiency and patient flow
- Help maintain patient retention through follow-up appointments and outstanding treatment scheduling
- Respond to patient questions and resolve concerns with professionalism and empathy
- Support the clinical team with administrative tasks that contribute to an exceptional patient experience
What We're Looking For
- Minimum one year of dental front office experience (required)
- Experience with dental insurance verification, claims, and treatment presentation strongly preferred
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Comfortable discussing finances and payment options with patients
- Proficiency with dental practice management software and general computer applications
- Positive attitude with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to adapt between two neighboring practices while maintaining outstanding patient service

Working Conditions
This position is primarily administrative and includes sitting, standing, frequent patient interaction, computer work, and occasional lifting of office supplies up to 35 pounds. The role requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a busy dental environment.
