Essential Duties/Responsibilities:Â
- Works under close supervision of RN to clean and high level disinfect endoscopes and other equipment used for endoscopy procedures
Â
- Knowledgeable of cleaning and disinfecting solutions used
Â
- Monitors and records parameters for disinfecting solutions
Â
- Wears PPE as required
Â
- Follows infection control policies and procedures; attends annual infection control in-service
Â
- Monitors and records operation of steam sterilizer
Â
- Steam sterilizes appropriate equipment according to procedure
Â
- Follows procedure for cleaning, sterilizing, and packaging of instruments
Â
- Performs autoclave cleaning and maintenance according to manufacturer's recommendations
Â
- Maintains disinfection log records
Â
- Stocks supplies as needed
Â
- Keeps area clean, free of food, and soiled lined emptied
Â
- Maintains eye wash station and records weekly checks
Â
- Cleans exhaust hood filters
Â
- Knows location and usage of MSDS and spill kits
Â
- Informs supervisor of problems with any equipment
Â
