Job Description:  

L3Harris Space and Mission Systems is seeking a Test Software Engineer for our Wilmington, MA location to develop software for testing complex space-based imaging payloads. As part of a dynamic team, you will be responsible for the design, development, and implementation of test software for aerospace applications, covering the complete software lifecycle from development to testing to operation during missions.

Essential Functions: 

  • Lead small, embedded test software teams to meet customer requirements within allocated cost, scope, and schedule.
  • Provide technical guidance, refine requirements, develop user stories, and collaborate on designs.
  • Write and design test software for requirement sell-off of space-based imaging payloads and embedded systems and subsystems
  • Integrate and test embedded flight systems at the software/hardware level.
  • Support development of test plans, procedures, traceability, reports, flow, and test case design and implementation.
  • Assist in the set-up, configuration, and documentation of hardware and software systems under test, including loading software onto multiple devices.
  • Understand and handle complex areas of test software for multiple systems, including automated test infrastructure.
  • Document testing issues and failures and analyzing test results.

 

 

Qualifications:  

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related field and minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience.
  • Ability to obtain a TS/SCI security clearance.
  • Experience in test development for aerospace systems.
  • 5+ years experience in one or more of the following: LabView, COSMOS, MATLAB and Simulink.
  • Professional experience in integrating and testing embedded processing systems at the software/hardware level.

 

 

Preferred Additional Skills: 

  • Active Top Secret or TS/SCI is preferred, but not required.
  • Experience with DevOps tools including Jira, Bitbucket, Jenkins, and Confluence.
  • Knowledge of space domain and applications.
  • Proficiency in LabView, COSMOS, MATLAB and Simulink.
  • Experience with space vehicle test software development and integration.
  • Working knowledge of image processors, visible cameras, IR detectors, servo motors, actuators, and focus mechanisms.
  • Familiarity with Cyber compliance tools (e.g., Fortify Workbench, SonarQube).
  • Familiarity with OMS (Open Mission Systems) and UCI (Universal Command and Control Interface) open architecture standards.

 

 

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in California, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Washington, and the Greater D.C, Denver, or NYC areas is $135,000.00 - $250,500.00. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
