Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)

Part-Time | Cambridge Village of Wilmington | Wilmington, NC

Communication. Cognition. Connection.

What if your SLP practice could be about more than treating a diagnosis?

At Prava, we believe speech-language pathology in senior living should help people communicate, participate, connect, and continue living independently.

We're looking for a part-time Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our team at Cambridge Village of Wilmington.

This is an opportunity for an SLP who wants the flexibility of a part-time role without sacrificing clinical quality or connection to the people they serve.

Your work will matter beyond the therapy session.

You may work with a resident who is having difficulty finding words.

Someone whose cognition has changed.

Someone who is struggling to safely manage meals.

Someone who has become less confident communicating with friends.

Someone whose cognitive changes are beginning to affect their independence.

Your job isn't simply to treat the impairment.

It's to help the person keep participating in life.

What you'll do

  • Evaluate residents and develop individualized plans of care

  • Provide skilled speech-language pathology services

  • Address communication, cognition, swallowing, and related functional needs within your scope of practice

  • Help residents maintain independence and participation

  • Provide education to residents, families, and caregivers

  • Collaborate with nursing, caregivers, wellness staff, and other members of the interdisciplinary team

  • Identify changes in communication, cognition, or swallowing that warrant clinical attention

  • Incorporate functional, real-world activities into treatment

  • Document efficiently using Prava's modern technology and AI-enabled tools

  • Contribute to a culture that values clinical excellence and meaningful outcomes

Senior living is your clinical laboratory.

A therapy session doesn't have to look like a therapy session.

It might happen at the dining table.

During a conversation.

While navigating a community activity.

While practicing a real-world cognitive strategy.

While helping a resident develop strategies to remain safely independent.

The best intervention is often the one that transfers into everyday life.

We're looking for an SLP who:

  • Holds a current North Carolina SLP license

  • Has ASHA certification or meets applicable requirements

  • Has a genuine interest in working with older adults

  • Is clinically confident and highly collaborative

  • Has strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Thinks beyond the diagnosis

  • Understands the importance of functional outcomes

  • Can work independently while staying connected to the interdisciplinary team

  • Wants a flexible role with meaningful clinical impact

Senior living experience is a plus, but not required.

Why Prava?

Prava was built specifically around rehabilitation in senior living.

You'll have the infrastructure of a growing organization while maintaining the autonomy of a clinician.

Modern technology.
AI-enabled documentation.
Clinical standards and support.
Operational infrastructure.
An embedded community model.

And most importantly:

A philosophy that puts the resident—not the diagnosis—at the center of care.
