Job Title: Maintenance Technician
Reports To: Facilities Director

Job Summary:
 The Maintenance Technician is an essential contributor to the facilities team, responsible for ensuring the functionality, safety, and visual appeal of all Vicmead Hunt Club buildings and grounds. This role involves proactive upkeep, addressing maintenance needs, and collaborating with various departments to support events and operations. The Maintenance Technician is instrumental in delivering a top-tier experience for members and guests while supporting the Facilities Director in driving efficiency and excellence across all facilities-related activities.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Facilities Maintenance
   • Conduct detailed inspections and preventive maintenance for all buildings and grounds to ensure they meet high standards of quality and safety.
   • Address maintenance issues promptly to prevent disruptions in club operations.
2. Feedback and Strategic Improvement
   • Provide actionable feedback to the Facilities Director regarding the condition and performance of facilities.
   • Propose innovative solutions and implement strategies to optimize operational efficiency and enhance member satisfaction.
3. Groundskeeping Operations
   • Use and maintain equipment such as leaf blowers, mowers, and trimmers to ensure pristine grounds throughout the campus.
   • Execute landscaping tasks, including mowing, trimming, mulching, and debris removal, maintaining a polished and inviting appearance.
   • Cultivate and care for grass, trees, flowers, and planters, ensuring irrigation and seasonal upkeep are performed efficiently.
4. Equipment and Vehicle Maintenance
   • Perform routine mechanical inspections, cleaning, and servicing of all club equipment and vehicles to ensure reliable performance and longevity.
5. Event and Operational Support
   • Collaborate with Banquet and Party staff to set up venues for daily and special events, ensuring spaces are visually appealing and functional.
   • Manage logistics for inter-location deliveries and transfers to support events and operational needs as requested. 
6. Workshop Organization
   • Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organized maintenance workshop, including inventory management and tool upkeep.
7. Repair and Project Work
   • Conduct minor plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and painting repairs to address immediate needs of all campus facilities. 
   • Assist in major renovation projects and annual club maintenance/cleaning programs to uphold the club’s standards.
8. Subcontractor Coordination
   • Assist with communication with subcontractors, overseeing their work and ensuring it aligns with club specifications.
   • Report progress and potential issues to the Facilities Director.
9. Seasonal and Specialty Tasks
   • Prepare and maintain fireplaces daily, ensuring they are clean and operational during the season.
   • Support the opening, closing, and maintenance of tennis courts, paddle courts, pools, and associated areas.
   • Perform snow removal, salting, and other weather-related tasks to ensure safety and accessibility.
10. Safety and Compliance Assurance
    • Inspect and replace fire extinguishers, light bulbs, exit signs, and emergency lighting systems to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
    • Conduct detailed monthly safety audits, addressing any risks or deficiencies.
    • Adhere to safety protocols and use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.
11. Administrative Excellence
    • Maintain meticulous records of maintenance activities, inspections, and equipment performance.
    • Complete reports and documentation accurately, contributing to efficient operations.
       
12. General Operational Support
    • Run errands to support club operations, including trips to the post office, bank, hardware store, bakery, grocery store etc. as needed.
    • Assist in maintaining tenant housing, stables and facilities on both the Bidermann and Vicmead club house campuses to ensure they meet club standards.
    • Perform other duties as needed to support the Facilities Director and ensure smooth daily operations.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and traverse safely over uneven terrain with ease.
• Ability to lift and carry objects up to 50 pounds and climb ladders while handling up to 40 pounds.
• Stamina to stand, walk, and perform physical tasks for extended periods of time.
• Flexibility to bend, stoop, kneel, squat, twist, reach, and pull as required.
• Acute situational awareness and visual acuity to identify hazards and maintain safety.
• Proper use of all Personal Protection Equipment and adherence to all safety polices. 
• Commitment to ensuring safe working conditions of all personnel throughout the Club Operations. 

Qualifications:

• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Landscaping experience is a plus 
• Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a focus on attention to detail.
• Willingness to obtain and maintain certifications such as First Aid and CPR etc.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to effectively coordinate with team members, supervisors, and club staff.
• Prior experience is preferred, but we are willing to train those that are eager to learn and want to be successful.
