Job DetailsJob Location: WILMINGTON, VT 05363Position Type: Full TimeSalary Range: $28.00 - $32.00 HourlyJob Title: Mountain Maintenance Mechanic Location: The Hermitage Club at Haystack Mountain, Wilmington, Vermont Department: Mountain Operations Reports To: Mountain Maintenance Manager Job Status: Full Time Year Round Classification: Non-Exempt Job Summary The Mountain Operations Mechanic at The Hermitage Club is responsible for the installation, repair, and maintenance of operational equipment such as  Ski Lifts, Trucks, Snow Cats, ATV’s, Snowmobiles, and other Mountain Operations infrastructure. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical systems and the ability to perform inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs in a variety of weather conditions. About The Hermitage Club at Haystack Mountain The Hermitage Club at Haystack Mountain is a premier private resort located in Vermont, offering world-class skiing and outdoor experiences. The Mountain Operations team plays a crucial role in maintaining the resort's infrastructure to ensure smooth operations and exceptional service for our members and guests. Key Responsibilities Equipment Maintenance Inspect lifts regularly for existing or potential problems, performing necessary repairs to maintain operational safety. Perform line work, including inspecting sheaves, line equipment, and towers, addressing any maintenance needs. Inspect and oversee all Mountain Equipment regularly for existing or potential problems, performing necessary repairs to maintain operational safety. Conduct preventative maintenance, including inspection and repair of machinery, such as fluid levels, belts, hydraulics, tracks, brakes etc.. Maintain detailed logs and records of all maintenance work performed. Perform engine and long-term repair and maintenance as required.   Troubleshooting & Repair Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical problems related to ski lifts and other mountain operations equipment. Respond to maintenance requests and repair needs promptly, reporting issues to the Mountain Operations Manager as necessary.   Cross-Departmental Support Assist other departments as needed and perform additional tasks assigned by management to support overall resort operations. Safety & Compliance Follow all company policies and safety procedures, ensuring a safe working environment for all staff. QualificationsJob Requirements Education & Experience High School Diploma or GED equivalent required. Experience with a variety of engines and mechanical systems, including construction equipment. Valid driver’s license and experience operating UTVs, ATVs, and snowmobiles safely. Ability to read and interpret maintenance manuals, log sheets, and maintenance reports. Physical Demands & Work Environment Must be physically capable of lifting 75 lbs or more and standing for extended periods in a variety of weather conditions. Ability to shovel snow for prolonged periods and clear lift chairs while lifts are in operation. Comfortable working at significant heights and in adverse weather conditions, with the physical dexterity required to perform tasks safely. Must be an experienced skier or snowboarder, able to navigate all types of terrain and weather conditions. Maintain a professional appearance and adhere to company appearance guidelines.
