Nemours is seeking a Post Doctoral Fellow to join our team in Wilmington, DE. 

The postdoctoral fellow will have a terminal degree (PhD) and will, under the direction/guidance of a mentor (principal investigator), extend, refine and enhance their research and clinical skills to prepare them for a research career. Fellows are expected to be involved in research development, implementation, and publication as available. If the fellow is a psychologist who is seeking licensure, they will have the opportunity to develop specific clinical expertise during their training as they accrue hours towards licensure. 

The Center for Healthcare Delivery Science (CHDS) at Nemours Children’s Health invites applications for a Postdoctoral Research Fellowship position. CHDS is a team of scientists who partner with healthcare systems, schools, and communities. Through these collaborations we aim to uncover, investigate, and transform how children and families can thrive. We are seeking individuals interested in clinical research who aspire to academic research careers.

CHDS is led by Drs. Anne Kazak, Melissa Alderfer and Susana Patton and spans the Nemours Enterprise with center faculty and staff in Delaware and Florida. Our five areas of research focus include: 1) Improving delivery of care to children with medical conditions and their families; 2) Focusing on health for all children, through addressing barriers to optimal health and differences in access to care; 3) Identifying and addressing key psychosocial and behavioral factors that impact health; 4) Addressing the diverse needs of youth, families and pediatric health care providers; and 5) Developing and evaluating technology-enhanced interventions. More information about CHDS can be found on our website.

 

Essential Function:

  1. Under supervision, conduct scholarly research, including literature reviews, study design, data collection, data analysis and preparation of research papers.

 

  1. Participation in team meetings at which the work will be discussed and planned.

     

  2. Write draft grant proposals and manuscripts and assist in preparation of research proposals to external funding agencies.

 

  1. Participate in journal clubs, seminars, lectures, and presentations at local, regional and national meetings.

 

  1. Participation in collaborative projects with other scientists.

 

  1. If seeking licensure, provide clinical psychology services under supervision. 

 

Requirements: 

Post Graduate Degree (Ph.D., M.D., J.D.) Required 

Must be currently enrolled in PhD program, completed degree requirements and defended dissertation to begin fellowship

1-3 years of job related experience
