We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Special Education Teacher to join a dedicated school team in Wilmington, DE. This is a full-time, 1.0 FTE opportunity supporting approximately 7 students in a middle school self-contained classroom. The ideal candidate will have experience working with students with Autism and be comfortable utilizing ABA-based strategies and behavioral supports. In this role, you will provide individualized instruction, implement IEP goals, support student development, and collaborate with educators, specialists, and families to help students reach their full potential.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized instruction and support to students in a self-contained middle school classroom

• Develop and implement instruction aligned with students' Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)

• Utilize differentiated teaching strategies to address individual academic, behavioral, and developmental needs

• Apply ABA-based strategies and appropriate behavioral supports when working with students with Autism

• Monitor student progress, maintain accurate documentation, and adjust instruction as needed

• Collaborate with teachers, therapists, specialists, and school support staff to promote student success

• Communicate regularly with parents and caregivers regarding student progress and needs



Requirements

• Valid state teaching credential/certification in Special Education

• Experience working with middle school students in a Special Education setting

• Experience working in a self-contained classroom

• Experience supporting students with Autism is specifically required

• ABA experience strongly preferred

• Strong understanding of individualized instruction and behavior-support strategies

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills

• Ability to work effectively with students with diverse learning and behavioral needs
