Position Overview

Kovalus offers comprehensive solutions for the most challenging applications in food and beverage, life science, and general industrial markets. Senior Cost Accounting Analyst, while reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, is responsible for detailed reporting and analysis of the Company’s multiple manufacturing sites’ operational costs, including direct costs to produce, overhead costs, manufacturing variances and other cost analysis, as required.

Responsibilities

  • Work directly and on site with manufacturing leaders and functional team members to report and analyze all aspects of cost of goods sold for the multiple sites of the Company.
  • Conduct complex financial research and analysis on organizational expenses, particularly cost of goods sold.
  • Enable more accurate budgets and forecasts while identifying areas to reduce costs and maximize profitability.
  • Proactive recommendations to operations teams for improvement of manufacturing variances, as applicable.
  • Lead or support preparation of KPI’s, various daily/weekly/monthly operational dashboards, other reporting and analysis tools to enhance timely business decision making by senior management & functional leaders across all locations.
  • Work directly with various global site accounting and operational teams to complete financial close process in a timely manner, while also fulfilling cost accounting and finance support needs globally on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.
  • Support operational teams as needed with cost proposals, project quotes and various pricing activities.
  • Update/maintain accounting policies & procedures, support strong internal controls & consistent quality of financial results.

Qualifications:

  • ~5-10 years of extensive cost accounting & analysis experience with direct responsibility for supporting complex, global manufacturing operations.
  • Strong accounting and financial acumen including experience interpreting and applying U.S. GAAP and other technical authoritative guidance for financial reporting both domestically and in other countries, as applicable. 
  • Highly disciplined individual with strong attention to detail and strict adherence to all deadlines.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a sense of urgency while maintaining accuracy in all financial reporting and analysis requirements.
  • Collaborative and proactive individual with demonstrated ability to interface with cross-functional teams on a global basis.
  • Team player with high emotional intelligence and ability to work under pressure while multi-tasking and prioritizing various roles and responsibilities.
  • Demonstrated hands-on approach with regular interaction with manufacturing shop floor team members, willingness to do whatever is necessary to fulfill internal and external customers’ needs from an accounting and financial perspective.
  • Strong leadership skills with positive commitment to drive continuous process improvements.

Physical Requirements:

  • No significant physical requirements; able to walk up/down stairs and around various work areas of the Company locations.
  • Periodic air travel may be required to Company locations.

Career Roadmap: The next potential opportunity is Manager of Cost Accounting or other finance/operational role.
