Sr. Metrology Technician

 

Position Summary

The Sr. Metrology Technician will interact with team members to ensure compliance and internal and external customer requirements are met, with focus on metrology and calibration. This will be accomplished within Tecomet’s principles of continuous improvement, customer driven innovation and a win first culture, while meeting company financial and other performance metrics.

 

Principle Responsibilities

  • Calibration of measuring instruments - Verify and adjust measuring tools to ensure accurate results.
  • Assist in development of measurement procedures - Create methods for measuring things accurately and reliably.
  • Maintenance of measuring equipment - Repair and maintain measuring tools to keep them working properly.
  • Training and technical support - Teach others how to use measurement tools and help them with problems.
  • Technology watch - Keep abreast of new measurement technologies.
  • Collaboration with other departments - Work with other teams to ensure that products and processes meet quality standards.
  • Assist with GR&R / MSA studies.

 

Qualification Requirements

Credentials/Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

 

Experience/Educational/Training Preferred:

  • ASQ Certification preferred
  • 2 years’ experience in quality within medical device manufacturing industry preferred
  • 4 years’ experience in quality within medical device manufacturing industry preferred
  • ISO 13485, FDA 820 and customer interaction experience preferred

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • In-depth knowledge of measurement principles.
  • Metrology tools and software.
  • Manufacturing operations – forging and/or machining.
  • Quality Systems.
  • Regulations – FDA, GMP and ISO.
  • Blueprint reading.
  • Microsoft office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
