Director of Nursing (DON) – Skilled Nursing Facility

Location: Wilmington, Delaware

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Director of Nursing (DON) to lead the clinical team at a skilled rehabilitation and nursing center in Wilmington, Delaware. The DON will play a pivotal role in ensuring high-quality resident care, regulatory compliance, and clinical leadership across the facility. 

What You’ll Do

  • Provide clinical leadership and oversight to the nursing department.

  • Develop, implement, and monitor policies, procedures, and care standards in line with state, federal, and CMS regulations.

  • Supervise, mentor, and support nursing staff to foster professional growth and retention.

  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to enhance resident outcomes and satisfaction.

  • Manage staffing, scheduling, and performance evaluations for the nursing department.

  • Participate in and oversee infection control, quality assurance, and risk management initiatives.

  • Handle emergency and on-call responsibilities as required.

Qualifications

  • Current RN license in Delaware (BSN or MSN preferred)

  • Proven leadership experience in a skilled nursing or rehab facility, MUST have experience as a DON for 2 years

  • Strong knowledge of CMS regulations, compliance, and survey readiness

  • Excellent communication, organizational, and team-building skills

  • Ability to manage high-volume responsibilities and maintain a positive, resident-first culture
