Job Description

The Wilmington, NC site currently has an opening for a Material Handling Operator. This position reports directly to the Material Handling Supervisor.  The successful candidate will have prior experience in locomotive operations and railcar loading and unloading. This role is scheduled on 8‑hour day shifts, five days per week, with some weekend overtime required. Candidates must also have the flexibility to adjust their work schedule as needed to support business needs.

 

Job Responsibilities and Expectations:

  • Operate locomotive safely through high traffic areas multiple times daily.
  • Maintain railcar inventory, organize, weigh, and separate between 11 different product railcars, loaded or empty.
  • Inspect track and switches daily and notify supervision on any issues that need addressing.
  • Offloading raw material from rail cars / tanks trucks

Qualifications

Required Skills:

  • Valid driver’s license
  • Experience in industrial utilities or chemical manufacturing operations
  • Previous experience moving and spotting railcars
  • Minimum of 2 years previous manufacturing or industrial related experience

 

Preferred Skills:

  • Chemical material handling experience
  • Forklift certified 
  • SAP experience

Education

  • High school diploma or GED
