Assistant Softball Coach

Job DetailsJob Location: Barton College - Wilson, NC 27893Barton College has an opening for a full-time Assistant Softball Coach. Under general supervision, the Assistant Softball Coach will assist the Head Softball Coach with coaching and developing a nationally competitive Division II Softball program.   MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: Player development including on-field coaching at practices and games, and player film breakdown. Monitoring student-athlete academic progress. Opponent scouting reports. Recruiting student-athletes effectively under the direction of the Head Coach. Facility management and field maintenance. Assist with organization and coordination of prospect camps. Assist with team travel. Assist in fundraising efforts. Equipment distribution and inventory. Other administrative duties as assigned. A secondary duty within the athletic department will also be assigned during the non-championship/fall season. QualificationsMINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s Degree Experience either playing at the college level or coaching hitters, infield or outfield at the college level for a minimum of one (1) year. Strong recruiting, teaching and coaching skills. Strong communication and motivation skills. Knowledge of NCAA Division II rules and regulations. An ability to build and maintain positive relationships with student-athletes, staff and alumni. Ability to support the equity and diversity commitments of the athletic department and College. Cooperation professionally and collegiality with the media, the community, the College and the Athletic Department staff and administration.
