Job Description:  We are seeking an experienced Commercial Lines CSR.  The 
successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining excellent customer relationships by 
handling customer needs with speed and professionalism. The candidate will interact daily with customers, insurance carriers, and fellow employees to fulfill service and marketing responsibilities.  This is a full-time, in-office position in Wilson, NC and not hybrid or remote. 
 
The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of commercial insurance industry experience, strong attention to detail, and excellent customer service skills. The candidate must also have excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. 
 
Duties & Responsibilities: 
 
• Provide service to existing clients related to maintaining policies, issuing accurate certificates of insurance and EPI’s, etc., providing quotes, taking payments, answering questions and providing documentation. 
 
• Receive, report and follow up on all claims to promote client satisfaction with the claims process. 
 
• Work independently or collaboratively with Producer at renewal to discuss existing policies, 
review coverages, limits and exposures, explore other coverage needs, evaluate 
replacement costs, round out accounts, remarket accounts where needed, bind renewals and provide necessary documentation to all stakeholders. 
 
• Work with new clients or support Producer in an effort to understand their needs, gather 
necessary information, research, market and present policy options, finalize, bind new coverage, and provide necessary information to all stakeholders. 
 
• Collaborate with team members, mentor staff, provide expertise, answer questions, 
and participate in formal and informal meetings as needed. 
 
• Perform administrative duties as needed such as answering phones, retrieving & opening mail, and greeting visitors. 
 
Requirements: The candidate will: 
 
• Hold the insurance license required by the State of NC and have a minimum of two years 
commercial lines insurance account management experience. 
 
• Demonstrate strong knowledge of insurance products, coverages, rating and underwriting procedures to effectively manage, maintain, and write assigned client and prospects. 
 
• Demonstrate strong customer focus and an excellent phone manner; display strong 
written and verbal communication skills. 
 
• Have a pleasant demeanor and ability / desire to contribute to a positive work environment. 
 
• Possess excellent math and reading skills to accurately perform typical calculations and accurately interpret insurance policy language and subcontract / lease agreements, etc. 
 
• Have the ability to tactfully handle difficult customer phone calls and solve complex 
problems without direct supervision. 
 
• Have strong sense of urgency, attention to detail, organization, multi- tasking, and follow 
up skills as well as excellent time management skills with a personal accountability mindset. 
 
• Have a strong desire to learn and participate in education / professional development opportunities. 
 
• Have technology and computer proficiency including use of Word and Excel and agency management systems.  Knowledge of Vertafore AMS360 is preferable.
