The primary function of the Senior Fiduciary Tax Liaison - Estate and Charitable is to coordinate between estate and charitable administrators and outsourcing partners regarding all aspects of tax compliance and reporting for agency, investment management, custodial, estate and trust accounts.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Following is a summary of the essential functions for this job.  Other duties may be performed, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below.  Specific activities may change from time to time.  

  • Review estate, trust, charitable, and related tax returns prepared by external tax providers and resolve tax issues.
  • Provide fiduciary tax guidance and support to administrators, advisors, relationship managers, and clients.
  • Oversee IRA, NRA, backup, federal, and state withholding activities, including reconciliations, exception resolution, and regulatory reporting.
  • Review discrepancy and data analysis reports generated from the trust accounting system and/or tax system and coordinate corrective action.
  • Maintain procedures and controls and support audits, regulatory reviews, and risk management activities.
  • Lead process improvement initiatives and special projects as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Qualifications

1. 10+ years of estate tax and/or charitable type return preparation experience.

2. Ability to work in OneSource Trust Tax.

3. Experience with trust taxation, information reporting, and withholding administration.

4. Outstanding problem solving and decision-making skills.

5. Strong organizational, multi-tasking and prioritizing skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field

2. CPA/EA certification
