Position OverviewÂ
Organics Ocean is looking for an outcomes-driven Staff Accountant to scale our fast-growing DTC supplement business (doubling YoY). In this high-ownership role, you will maintain balance sheet integrity, manage month-end close discipline, govern GL precision, and deliver trusted financial visibility to leadership. This is a hands-on execution role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment beyond routine AP/AR data entry.Â

What You’ll OwnÂ
Monthly Close & Financial Integrity
- Own key components of the monthly close cycle, ensuring speed, accuracy, and strong documentation discipline.
- Prepare and post journal entries related to accruals, prepaids, recurring adjustments, and revenue/expense recognition.
- Maintain close-cycle workpapers and support schedules that create confidence in financial reporting.
- Ensure recurring close tasks are completed on time with strong precision and minimal rework.
- Strengthen the company’s evolution from raw financial data to trusted information truth.
Reconciliations, Balance Sheet Accuracy & Platform Validation
- Own recurring balance sheet reconciliations, prepaid schedules, accrual reconciliations, and account analysis.
- Validate supporting activity behind transactions, settlement statements, vendor flows, and recurring financial movements.
- Reconcile cash, fees, reserves, and net payout activity across platforms, vendors, and channel statements.
- Build clear workpaper logic that ties reconciliations back to the general ledger.
- Support the integrity of A2X and platform-to-GL data flows.
- Identify anomalies, missing entries, or coding inconsistencies before they impact reporting.
- Maintain archival discipline for reconciliation backup and audit-readiness.
- Help validate transaction logic as future channel complexity expands into retail and additional revenue streams.
Trend Analysis & Information Truth
- Perform trend, variance, and account-level analysis to validate reporting accuracy.
- Investigate unexpected balance movement, coding irregularities, or month-over-month shifts.
- Translate transactional data into trustworthy financial narratives leadership can act on.
- Surface patterns and insights that strengthen decision confidence.
- Help finance leadership reduce reliance on raw data by improving information quality.
Systems, Discipline & Process Improvement
- Maintain strong general ledger and chart of accounts discipline.
- Support process improvements that increase close-cycle speed and reliability.
- Strengthen documentation standards, workpaper systems, and reconciliation workflows.
- Partner on project-based accounting initiatives tied to scale and future complexity.
- Help build the accounting foundation required for new channel expansion and long-term growth.
What Success Looks LikeÂ
What You Bring \ Must-HavesÂ
- 4+ years of professional accounting experience with strong exposure to monthly close cycles.
- Accounting or Finance degree.
- Proven experience with journal entries, accruals, prepaid schedules, balance sheet reconciliations, account analysis, and workpaper preparation.
- Strong general ledger and chart of accounts discipline.
- High attention to detail with the ability to move quickly without sacrificing precision.
- Strong analytical fluency tied to reconciliation accuracy, trend validation, and financial integrity.
- Proven ability to turn raw transactional data into trusted information truth.
- Experience improving close-cycle confidence through documentation rigor and account-level accuracy.
- Strong cross-functional partnership skills with finance leadership and teams that rely on accurate financial reporting.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and able to work consistently within U.S. business hours.
- Willingness to work U.S. time zones, regardless of geographic location.
- Access to a computer, a reliable internet connection, and a distraction-free work environment.
- Ability to accommodate limited required travel (up to 10%).
Ideal CandidateÂ
- Experience in DTC, eCommerce, Amazon, Shopify, Walmart, or settlement-heavy environments.
- Familiarity with Fulfill, QuickBooks Online, or similar accounting systems.
- Comfortable operating in a fast-growth, high-ambiguity environment.
- A builder-operator accountant, not someone looking for a narrow AP/AR-only lane.
- Thrives in environments where workflows evolve, systems must be strengthened, and accounting rigor scales alongside the business.
- Comfortable stepping into a blank slate or partially built accounting workflow and improving its structure.
- Excited by future growth complexity, including retail expansion, new channels, and additional finance infrastructure.
Offer DetailsÂ
- Salary range: $82,000 - $92,000. In line with Rain Media’s total compensation philosophy, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary and be eligible for a quarterly bonus. The base salary offered may vary depending on multiple factors, including but not limited to location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.Â

Our selection process involves an Application review, HR Interview, and Hiring Manager Interview. Candidates may also complete a Paid Project and a final interview with a Director, VP, or CEO.
