 Scrap Cutter

REPORTS TO: Site Manager

Phoenix Global, LLC is a premier MILL services provider with special expertise in Slag Processing Scrap Yards, Transportation (Logistics), and Packaging Services as well as in other sectors involving complex production processes. Phoenix Global, LLC offers marketing-focused slag scrap management, innovative production support, intelligent transport and handling logistics, professional maintenance, customized protective packaging, and technology-driven project management.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Perform on-site heavy equipment operations which involves positioning and moving front loaders and excavators
  • Loading, extracting and transporting materials including steel scrap
  • Use of hand and track torch to cut scrap into appropriate lengths
  • Observing relevant safety, accident prevention, and environmental regulations
  • Perform routine inspection and preventive maintenance on assigned equipment and refer defects or repairs to supervisor, clean equipment
  • Maintain and protect all property
  • Maintain all required certifications required by OSHA and company safety programs
  • Provide outstanding customer service operations
  • Perform any other tasks assigned to support and improve the overall team operations
  • Regulate natural gas and oxygen
  • Operate a burning station
  • Operate torch to cut ingots


REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Demonstrated experience in operating metal cutting systems, front loaders, excavators, skid loaders, etc.
  • Able to stand for 10 or 12 hour shift
  • Must be able to work in varying natural elements
  • Able to lift up to 40lbs
  • Experience with and knowledge of technical equipment and machinery
  • Results orientated/Strong work ethic
  • Must work flexible hours and shift work
  • Reliability, enthusiasm, teamwork
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills – ability to get along with diverse personalities
  • Must possess Valid Driver’s License

Compensation and Benefits

Base pay $21.00 an hour.
