How you'll contribute

A Nurse Tech  who excels in this role:

• Provides basic patient care activities under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN).
• Monitors and records vital signs, intake and output, and reports changes in patient condition to nursing staff.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living including,  bathing, grooming, toileting, eating, and ambulation.
• Observes and promptly reports abnormal physical, mental, or emotional findings.
• Maintains patient rooms and common areas to ensure a clean, safe, and organized care environment.
• Supports nursing and physician staff with patient care activities and unit workflow.
• Manages tech desk operations and assists with maintaining efficient department throughput.
• Documents patient care and activities in accordance with hospital and unit standards.
• Participates in required education, competency validation, and performance improvement activities.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

What to expect.

Unit Volume:

• 7–14 patients daily 

Staffing Model:

• Up to 8 patients: 1 Nurse + 1 Nurse Tech
• Over 8 patients: 2 Nurses + 2 Nurse Tech 

Unit Type: Med - Surge

Rooms:

• 14 rooms (Winchester, double occupancy available) 

Care Model:

• Collaborative team approach (RNs, LPNs, Nurse Techs)

What we're looking for

Education

High school diploma or equivalent (Required)

Certifications

• AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
• Handle with Care certification preferred.
