The Optometry Technician responsibilities include gathering medical records and patient information; taking ocular measurements, both anatomical and functional; administering or preparing medications; providing eye care and contact lens information to the patient; maintaining and cleaning ophthalmic instruments; assisting the ophthalmologist in basic procedures.
Education
High School Diploma or GED required.
Experience
Three years experience in healthcare or physician office setting preferred.
Certification & Licensures
Optometry Certification required or obtain within 18 months of hire.
Qualifications
Exceptional customer service and phone etiquette required.
Strong written and verbal communication skills required.
Excellent time management skills required.
Ability to multi-task and prioritize work required.
Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
