Responsibilities
POSITION OVERVIEW:
We seek a self-driven, highly motivated Tooling Lead with a strong background in mold repair and mold maintenance. This candidate will coordinate the day-to-day tool room activities.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Direct the day-to-day activities of the tooling repair team.
- Assure safety guidelines for mold repair are being met.
- Schedule work through the mold repair shop, assuring production needs are met. This includes routine coordination meetings with the production planner.
- Coordination of tool and tool part shipments to and from suppliers. This includes working with IWT logistics department to arrange trucking and loading/unloading molds.
- Manage internal spare parts including ordering, mold and hot runner components.
- Interact with outside mold part suppliers and mold makers.
- Perform mold preventive maintenance activities including hot runner manifold maintenance.
- Perform hot runner system cleaning, disassembly and reassembly as needed, familiar with basic electrical skills as related to hot runner wiring and temperature control.
- Manage priorities and work with a sense of urgency.
- Able to perform mold repair work inside the molding machinery.
- Document specific mold related problems and interface with Process Technicians, Production Supervisors, Engineering, and others.
- Occasional travel to outside suppliers and training, including overnight trips.
- Maintain a neat and orderly workplace.
- Flexibility in working hours and schedule shifts - overtime and weekend work are a requirement.
- Training of processing team on the best approach to ensure that the tools are not damaged.
- Assist in mold changes when required.
 QUALIFICATIONS (must have):
- 20+ years’ experience in the injection molding industry with focus on tooling.
- Direct hands-on experience in mold design and mold construction.
- Ability to review part and mold designs in Solid Works.
- Background in working with various mold material and metal types.
- Working knowledge of hot runner manifold systems.
- Strong project management skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Able to effectively collaborate with effective communication skills.
- Able to create technical reports.
- Good working knowledge of injection molding.
- Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to travel with 2X per month being typical.
