Job DetailsJob Location: Windber, PA 15963Position Type: CasualEducation Level: High SchoolTravel Percentage: NegligibleJob Shift: Rotates All ShiftsOVERALL PURPOSE OF JOB: This position is primarily responsible for greeting HealthStyles members and maintaining the fitness center.  This individual is responsible for touring potential members through the facility and handling general administrative tasks. In addition, proper use of exercise equipment and instruction related to the HealthStyles operation. This position will report to the Manager of HealthStyles/Cardiac Rehab and may also work with Cardiac Rehab when necessary. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF JOB (Other duties may be assigned) Customer service skills to efficiently manage all aspects of membership operations. Greet members to facility and give directional guidance to visitors for other services. Maintain member satisfaction resolving issues and/or conflicts in a timely manner. Take payments for memberships, guest pass, lockers, and proshop.  Monitor HealthStyles members and guests assuring accurate entry to the fitness center. Monitor club system to verify members are active and accounts are not delinquent. Communicate member responsibilities with compliance to scan tag usage, identity verification/member photo, delinquent payments and guest guidelines. Schedule new member equipment orientations and staff guidance for guests. Conduct Tours of the facility to potential members and guests and obtain member applications. Knowledge of facility operations, programming, and services. Physically walk the facility with interested clients to all areas of the fitness center. Knowledge of membership types, criteria and payment process for each to relay to potential members. Obtain completed applications, including consents, signatures and physician clearance if applicable.  Maintain daily operations of the fitness center. Properly follow open and close checklists including crash cart checklist prior to opening. Stock towel rack and empty soiled towel bags. Check and fill disinfectant bottles and stock paper towels. Scan floor, exercise room, coat room & return equipment to its original place. Supervise and assist safe and effective exercise programs for all Healthstyles members and guests. Visually observe all participants exercising on fitness floor. Demonstrate proper technique on all cardiovascular and weight training equipment. Hands-on assistance when necessary with all clients. Assist in safety measures for all members and guests based on hospital and department policies. Orientation of equipment and exercise log to new members as necessary. Perform Personal Training with clients as necessary. Complete Personal Training Client Agreement with proper payment based on package. Adhere to client agreement related to cancelation and expirations, etc. Initiate and progress clients based on ACSM exercise guidelines and precautions. OTHER DUTIES OF JOB: Appropriately respond to emergencies. Equipment maintenance. Cleaning equipment and fitness area. Answering phone, taking messages. Perform other related duties as assigned. Follow standard precaution guidelines. Qualifications Education/Training/License/Certification:             High School degree required Associates degree preferred, but not required Good communication skills required, professional attitude and appearance required, efficient computer operational skills preferred. Complete understanding of operation of exercise equipment, ability to work with multiple age groups. Cardio-pulmonary Resuscitation Certification and AED Training preferred at time of hire, required within 6 months of hire date. Work Experience: One to two years related experience and/or training preferred.
