Job DetailsJob Location: Beach Road Precision Manufacturing Hardrock HDDP - WINDER, GA 30680Position Type: Full TimeEducation Level: Not SpecifiedTravel Percentage: Road WarriorJob Shift: AnyJob Category: ConstructionFull-Time | Utilities & Construction | Field Operations  About the Role  We are seeking an experienced and reliable Directional Drilling Locator to support our HDD crews in safe and accurately completing underground bores. The Locator plays a critical role in maintaining bore path accuracy, avoiding utilities, and ensuring overall jobsite safety and productivity.    Key Responsibilities  Operate and interpret locating equipment (DigiTrak, Subsite, etc.) to guide drill operator  Walk the bore path, track the drill head, and communicate depth, pitch, and alignment  Read plans, prints, and utility locates to plan bore path  Identify potential conflicts with existing utilities and adjust drilling strategy  Perform potholing and verification of utilities  Communicate clearly with drill operator, laborers, and supervision throughout the bore  Set up, maintain, and organize jobsite equipment and tools  Assist with pullback, pipe handling, and jobsite restoration  Maintain equipment logs, daily drilling reports, and bore shot documentation  Ensure compliance with safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirements  Support crew with other tasks as needed (mixing mud, vacuum excavation, etc.)    Required Qualifications  Experience as an HDD Locator required (minimum 1 year)  Strong knowledge of underground utilities, utility locating, and HDD operations  Ability to read and understand bore plans, maps, and utility marking systems  Valid driver’s license (CDL a plus)  Ability to work outdoors in all weather and terrain  Strong communication and teamwork skills  Ability to lift 50–80 lbs regularly    Preferred Skills  Experience with DigiTrak Falcon F2/F5, Subsite TK series, or similar systems  Understanding of drilling fluids and mud mixing  Experience with vacuum excavation and potholing procedures  Mechanical aptitude for basic equipment troubleshooting  Knowledge of OSHA, utility safety, and industry best practices    Work Environment & Physical Demands  Outdoor construction environment (heat, cold, rain, uneven ground)  Frequent walking, bending, kneeling, and lifting  Long days, early mornings, occasional weekends  Travel may be required depending on project location  Bending. lifting between 50 to 80 lbs., standing, walking, twisting, reaching, tolerate outdoor weather extreme hot or cold, rough terrain, and active construction environments.    What We Offer  Competitive hourly pay + overtime  Advancement path to Drill Operator, Crew Lead, or Supervisor  Paid training and certifications  Health, dental, vision options   Life Insurance  Short and Long-Term Disability Insurance  Strong team culture and long-term career opportunities    Schedule  Monday–Friday  Occasional weekends or travel depending on project demand    QualificationsQualifications: High School Diploma or GED Valid Driver's license and/or CDL License Clean Driving Record 3 years as a horizontal directional drilling locator
