Join The Merrimack as a Mortgage Loan Officer

The Merrimack is hiring two full-time Mortgage Loan Officers to serve Southern New Hampshire based out of either our Hooksett or Windham branch locations. In this customer-focused role, you will originate residential mortgage and home equity loans, guide borrowers through the lending process, and develop referral relationships within the community. If you have mortgage lending experience, strong communication skills, and a passion for helping customers achieve their homeownership goals, we would be excited to learn more about you.

What You'll Do

  • Originate residential mortgage and home equity loans in accordance with bank procedures, underwriting guidelines, and regulatory requirements
  • Assist new and existing customers by phone and in person, identifying financing solutions that align with their needs
  • Review borrower documentation, including income, assets, tax returns, and credit information, to support loan qualification
  • Manage loan files from application through closing, resolving documentation issues and helping ensure a smooth process
  • Build and maintain referral relationships with real estate professionals, builders, and community partners
  • Promote additional bank products and refer customers to internal partners when appropriate
  • Participate in business development activities, training programs, and community events


What You Bring

  • Three to five years of banking experience with strong knowledge of residential mortgage lending products, systems, and regulations
  • NMLS registration required
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong sales, relationship-building, and customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with internal partners
  • Technical proficiency with mortgage lending and servicing systems
