Job Duties and Responsibilities: Ā
Summary: Lead and support finance and accounting activities at the Nautilus business unit in three key areas:
- Job cost management
- General accounting management
- Financial planning and analysis
Responsibilities:
Job Cost Management:
- Reviews job cost results and provides feedback and suggestions to operating managers.
- Support operational reviews of financial results with functional leaders and the plant General Manager.
- Identify opportunities in collaboration with operational teams to reduce inventory levels and maintain inventory valuation and existence accuracy.
- Oversee annual physical inventory and implement procedures to minimize impact on production and deliveries.
General Accounting Management:
- Participate in monthly close activities ensuring an efficient, timely and accurate close adhering to generally accepted accounting principles.
- Support monthly financial reporting preparation including profit and loss statements, balance sheet and cash flow reports.
- Lead customer collection activities ensuring a steady cadence of effort and minimal past due balances.
- Support accounting transactional support and ensure daily functions operate effectively and efficiently.
- Ensure adequate internal controls are always maintained.
- Oversees program milestone billing process to ensure timely billing and relief.
- Develop and manage an internal control testing program to ensure protection of company assets and support a culture of integrity and āDoing the right thing.ā
- Identify and implement lean improvements in finance and accounting functions, including any intercompany activities.
- Support business unit efforts relating to any external audit.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state and federal laws.
- Oversee business unit local, state and federal tax compliance.
Financial Planning and Analysis:
- Perform ad-hoc analysis with management and executive teams.
- Support annual budget efforts and monthly forecast activities.
- Perform ROI calculations in collaboration with capital requestors.
- Support monthly forecast updates, maintaining visibility to achieving annual sales, EBITDA, working capital targets, and other key performance indicators.

General: Extensive mobility required, some moderate lifting. Position requires ability to lift objects weighing less than 25 pounds occasionally; walking and standing for long durations; see objects closely; and hear normal sounds with some background noises. Position requires ability to concentrate with some interruption and attend to tasks for 45 to 60 minutes at a time.Ā
Environmental and Working Conditions:
Office and industrial shop setting. Dust, dirt, metal debris from manufacturing will be encountered. Moderate levels of noise will be encountered.Ā
