  • What You will Do:
    Develop detailed inspection plans for aerospace components and assemblies, ensuring compliance with customer requirements, engineering specifications, and regulatory standards
  • Collaborate with design and engineering teams to define the most appropriate inspection methods and criteria for new parts, assemblies, and systems
  • Identify and select suitable inspection tools, techniques, and measurement equipment (Vernier, micrometer, radius optical, gaging, etc.)
  • Establish acceptance criteria, and tolerances for aerospace products based on engineering drawings, material specifications, and industry standards
  • Create and maintain detailed inspection reports, documentation, and records, ensuring that all inspection activities are traceable and compliant with regulatory requirements
  • Develop inspection records that support traceability and certification, including first article inspections (FAI), in-process inspections, and final inspections
  • Ensure that all inspection processes adhere to aerospace industry standards, including AS9100D, AS9102C, FAA and DCMA regulations, and customer-specific requirements
  • Support internal and external audits related to inspection processes and quality assurance systems
  • Investigate and perform root cause analysis for any quality issues or inspection failures, using tools such as 5 Whys, PFMEA, and Fishbone diagrams
  • Lead initiatives to improve inspection processes, reduce inspection times, and increase the accuracy and reliability of inspections
     

What You Will Bring:

  •  Knowledge of engineering drawings, tolerances, and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Understanding of inspection tools and equipment (calipers, micrometers, radius gages, etc.)
  • Requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to perform root cause analysis and propose corrective actions
  • Good working knowledge of Quality Management System QMS, AS9100D, and AS9102C requirements. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience in GD&T
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills 

 

Pay Range:  $74K- $79K 

Compensation decisions are made based on factors including experience, skills, education, and other job-related factors, in accordance with our internal pay structure. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, paid time off, and a retirement plan. 

 

Work Requirements:

  •  This role is considered an on-site position located in Windsor Locks, CT.
  • You must be able to commute to and from the location with your own transportation arrangements to meet the required working hours. 
  • Shop floor environment, which may include but not limited to extensive walking, and ability to lift up to 40 lbs. 

Travel Requirements:

  • Due to the nature of the work, no travel is required.


Citizenship Requirements: 

Due to the nature of the work, U.S. citizenship is required.
