About Your Role:Â
As a Maintenance Technician I at Dollar Tree’s Distribution Center, you’ll perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot, and repair conveyors, building systems, machinery, and electrical/controls equipment. You’ll help ensure that all equipment operates at peak efficiency while maintaining a safe and organized work environment. Your day-to-day job duties include, but are not limited to, the following:Â
Maintenance & Equipment Support:Â
- Perform preventive maintenance and emergency repairs on equipment, including lift trucks, pneumatic systems, hydraulic equipment, dock equipment, and electrical/electronic systemsÂ
- Troubleshoot and repair complex electrical/electronic problems with equipment, networks, logic controls, PLCs, motor drives (Servo and VFD), and external I/O devicesÂ
- Diagnose electrical problems using technical drawings (blueprints, schematics) and diagnostic tools (multi-meter, laptop)Â
- Assist other maintenance technicians in the repair and maintenance of equipmentÂ
- Initiate and implement new procedures or designs to maintain equipment efficiencyÂ
- Maintain organized work area and promote a safe working environment within the Maintenance departmentÂ
Documentation & Communication:Â
- Complete work orders, records, logs, and other documentation according to established proceduresÂ
- Communicate technical issues effectively to associates, leadership, and suppliers to minimize equipment downtimeÂ
- Ensure workmanship meets the highest quality standardsÂ
Equipment Operation:Â
- Operate material handling equipment, battery-powered equipment, and other powered machinery safelyÂ
- Maintain a customer service-oriented approach while addressing technical issuesÂ
Your Required Skills and Experience:Â
- Coursework or certification in electronic technology and 2 years industrial maintenance experience specializing in electronic technology OR 3 years industrial maintenance experience in electronic technology (including troubleshooting and repairing automated equipment)Â
- PLC/PC programming knowledge and troubleshooting experienceÂ
- Hands-on industrial electrical experience, including 480V 3-phase, 110 VAC, and 24 VDC systemsÂ
- Advanced troubleshooting skills with PCs and industrial control devices/networkingÂ
- Ability to communicate technical issues clearly to business leadershipÂ
- Willingness to work shifts, overtime, weekends, and holidaysÂ
Preferred Requirements:Â
- Associate’s degree in electronic technology with 2 years of relevant industrial maintenance experienceÂ
- Preferred Elevator, R7 or R8 Licensing
- Experience maintaining automated equipment in a distribution center environmentÂ
