H2M architects + engineers, a multidiscipline architectural/engineering/environmental consulting firm seeks a Professional Land Surveyor. Successful candidate will be responsible for selecting and applying standard surveying techniques in the field and office to plan, organize, and execute land surveying projects.
Job Responsibilities:

- Receive instructions on specific assignments, objectives and complex features
- Performs a variety of in-office and field tasks associated with land surveying projects obtained by the company
- Broad understanding and experience for operating surveying equipment, such as Total Stations, Data Collectors, GPS RTK & Static Observations
- Accurately calculates and records field data
- Reviews job specifications and plans fieldwork methods and costs
- Apply standard scientific/engineering techniques, procedures and criteria, using judgment in making adaptations of standard methods and techniques in the field and office
- Review and download field data
- Prepare field notes and draw sketches of existing site conditions
- Prepare detailed daily job reports and discuss projects with supervisor on daily basis
- Maintain and troubleshoot complex instrumentation
- Drafting and editing of surveys using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Perform other like duties as assigned

Education and Qualifications:
- Professional Land Surveyor License Required (State of CT)
- Must have substantial survey experience and strong knowledge of survey calculations, techniques and procedures
- Minimum 6+ years of experience
- Demonstrated ability to use sound judgement when making decisions
- Valid Driver’s license
- Ability to stand, climb and walk continuously during an 8-hour period
- Ability to perform strenuous work in a varying climate (heat and cold, etc)
- Must have good computer skills and be able to learn survey related software
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Working knowledge of AutoCad
The salary range for this role is $80,000 - $100,000 annually.
