 Position Summary


The Calibration / Measurement Technician performs accurate and timely calibration and measurement services for Black Label Services clients. This position requires a dependable, self-motivated, and safety-conscious individual who demonstrates attention to detail, takes ownership of assigned work, and communicates professionally with coworkers, customers, producers, and operators.

The Technician works primarily in field environments and must be prepared to work outdoors in varying weather conditions. The position requires effective time management, flexibility, proper use of PPE, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.



Essential Duties and Responsibilities


• Perform calibration and measurement services according to company procedures and customer requirements.

• Maintain accurate records of calibrations, services performed, hours worked, parts and inventory used, and required paperwork.

• Manage assigned schedules to ensure calibrations and services are completed accurately and on time.

• Communicate professionally with Leads, Foremen, Supervisors, customers, producers, and operators.

• Explain calibration procedures and requirements to personnel at customer locations as appropriate.

• Follow direction, customer-specific procedures, company policies, and applicable OSHA requirements.

• Properly operate, maintain, and secure company tools, equipment, supplies, and vehicles.

• Keep assigned company vehicles clean, maintained, and inspection-ready.

• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.

• Complete required training and maintain applicable safety certifications.

• Demonstrate accuracy, reliability, initiative, and effective time management.

• Adapt to changing schedules, priorities, weather conditions, and unexpected circumstances.

• Work extended hours or overtime when necessary to meet operational or customer requirements.

• Perform other duties as assigned



Requirements

 Education, Experience & Certifications


• High school diploma or GED required; technical certificate or associate degree in instrumentation, engineering technology, or a related field preferred.

• 3–5 years of hands-on field calibration and measurement experience, preferably in oil and gas or industrial services.

• OSHA 10 or 30 training preferred/required based on company or customer requirements.

• Current Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) qualification.

• NGC gas-sampling certification.

• Device-specific calibration credentials or vendor training (e.g., Total Flow, ROC, Flow Boss) preferred.


Schedule and Travel


• Typical schedule is approximately 50 hours per week; 5 days on, 2 days off with some weekend hours.

• Work is generally performed within a 100-mile radius, allowing the technician to be home every night.

• On-call rotation is approximately every seven weeks.
