REPORT TO:  Production Manager

PURPOSE

Supervise production and ancillary activities during day shift.   Schedule work activities to meet production priorities and customer delivery dates.  Monitor and positively affect the performance of employees. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Responsible for people, quality, safety, and housekeeping.
  • Interpret, implement, and enforce compliance with policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
  • Work with engineering to improve methods & techniques, tooling, and process capabilities.
  • Schedule activities and assign employees to scheduled activities based on capabilities.
  • General supervision of employee performance and compliance with policies.
  • Drive performance improvement through all production activities.
  • Work with other shift supervisors to maintain consistent production priorities.
  • Provide a stellar example of attitude and performance for employees to follow.
  • Enforce prescribed safety rules and regulations; ensure that work areas are maintained in a neat and orderly condition.
  • Ability to interpret and evaluate data and metrics.
  • Conduct employee and shift meetings on a regular basis.
  • Monitor scrap and efficiency and take action for these issues.

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS
  • Training/experience in supervision or management.
  • Exceptional communication and organization skills. 
  • Experience with manufacturing software
  • First Aid or First Responder training.


PREFERRED SKILLS OR CREDENTIALS:

  • 1-3 years in manufacturing environment, preferably molding. 
  • Experience with electronic production management systems or equivalent.
  • Experience with change management and continuous improvement.
  • Knowledge of OSHA standards, 5S organization, Hazard Communication.
  • Working knowledge of polymer manufacturing theory and practices.

Physical Demands:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, use hands to position or move, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear.
  • The employee frequently is required to stand, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 lbs., frequently lift and/ or move up to 25 lbs. and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Must be able to stand or sit for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to use computers regularly to input and evaluate data.
