PALCO Power Systems, a distributor of Kohler Power Systems, is seeking a Parts Associate. Schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:30 am - 4:30 pm, but must be willing to work as business needs dictate.


Job Summary

The Parts Associate supports the daily operations of the generator parts department by managing inventory, fulfilling internal and external parts requests, assisting technicians, and ensuring accurate and timely parts procurement. This role plays a critical part in maintaining efficient service operations and delivering exceptional customer support.


Responsibilities

  • Identify, source, and supply parts for generators, transfer switches, and related equipment for both customers and service technicians
  • Maintain accurate inventory levels, perform cycle counts, receive shipments, and ensure proper stocking and organization of parts
  • Communicate with manufacturers and suppliers to order parts, verify availability, track shipments, and resolve discrepancies
  • Assist walk‑in customers, contractors, and internal teams with parts inquiries, pricing, and product information
  • Use parts diagrams, service manuals, and equipment schematics to correctly identify required components
  • Create purchase orders, process sales orders, and ensure accurate documentation in the company’s inventory or ERP system
  • Handle warranty claims, core returns, and defective part processing in accordance with manufacturer guidelines
  • Ensure technicians have the correct parts for scheduled jobs, emergency calls, and preventive maintenance work
  • Follow all company safety policies and maintain a clean, organized parts area



Requirements:

  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced service and parts department supporting field technicians and customer needs
  • Strong understanding of generator components, transfer switches, and related systems (Kohler/Rehlko, Generac, Cummins, etc.)
  • Regular interaction with vendors, customers, and internal service teams
  • Ability to read and interpret parts diagrams and equipment manuals
  • Proficiency with inventory software, purchase order systems, or ERP platforms
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to lift and move parts and equipment as required
  • Occasional need to assist with loading/unloading parts or equipment



Preferences:

  • Experience in generator, electrical, mechanical, or industrial parts preferred

 

Must submit a background check and drug testing
