Job DetailsJob Location: WINFIELD DENTAL - Winfield, KS 67156Position Type: Full-Time/Part-TimeEducation Level: High SchoolTravel Percentage: NoneJob Shift: DayJob Category: Admin - ClericalJob purpose: The Office Assistant will greet and welcome patients as they enter the office, be responsible for keeping the lobby and front desk areas clean and tidy, and perform other clerical tasks as required. The Office Assistant will work independently to verify insurance on all patients via phone, email, and/or fax as applicable. The Office Assistant must be coachable to perform tasks assigned to them. Duties and responsibilities Welcoming patients and updating their information in the dental software(s) Confirming appointments Registering new patients according to established office protocols Verifying insurance Assisting patients to complete all necessary forms and documentation Answering and managing incoming calls Responding and complying to requests for information Preparing documentation for upcoming appointments Checking daily appointment schedules and filling gaps to ensure positive production Monitoring and replying to e-mails and voicemails Maintaining a professional reception area Safeguarding patient privacy and confidentiality Maintaining OSHA and HIPPA Compliance Perform all other duties as assigned Qualifications Education: High School degree or equivalent required Experience: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills required Working conditions Dental practices run at a fast pace and office assistants will be required to keep up with the flow of doctors and patients. Physical requirements Office Assistants will be required to: Sit for long periods Look at a computer screen for extended periods Stand for long periods.
