Job Title: Quality Technician

Department: Quality

Reports to: Quality Engineer

FLSA: Hourly

Work Schedule: Rotating 12 hour shifts – three days on and two days off (day/night)

 

General Responsibility:

To perform quality audits of finished product, parts in process, and incoming materials and product to ensure it adheres

to specifications. To verify product meets specification by utilizing various established testing methods and procedures.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the essential duties and responsibilities

satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Must be able to perform product audits (production line, warehouse, receiving inbound).
  • Must provide accurate reporting of first piece inspections, non-conforming materials, inbound audits, quality audits,

calibrations, and deviations.

  • Must be able and capable of developing work instructions and quality specifications.
  • Must participate in development of new products including the Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) process.
  • Must maintain proper control of quality records and documents.
  • Must work in cross-departmental cooperation for completion of first piece inspections, process audits, and resolving

quality spec issues.

  • Must have good written and verbal communication skills to report quality issues and concerns.
  • Must be willing and capable of training in the use of quality standards and specifications.
  • Must be able to operate Micro Soft Office (Windows) Operating System.
  • Must perform other duties as required.

 

Job Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Six Sigma training/exposure
  • American Society of Quality (ASQ) certification in QT, etc.
  • Some college/college degree preferred.
  • Exposure to injection molding, blow molding or assembly processes.
  • Insulated product experience.

 

Working Conditions:

The Quality Technician will work in a reasonably clean production environment under intermittent supervision. Exposure

to noise and vibration is constant. Seasonal weather variations may result in frequent exposure to hot or cold working

conditions. Seasonal production peaks may result in high stress levels due to the demand for high levels of consistently

accurate and timely performance in a congested working area. Quality Technicians must follow detail work instructions to

ensure the consistency and accuracy of the overall quality (look, fit, form and function) of each product. The Quality

Technician must communicate with many associates including production, and operations personnel. Physical exertion

such as bending, stooping, kneeling, pushing, pulling or heavy lifting of up to 40 pounds is frequent.
