1st Shift: Mon-Fri, 6a-2:30p

 

General Responsibility:

The Set-up Technician performs machine and equipment changeovers, prepares equipment for production (i.e. molds, tooling, fixtures) and is actively responsible for facility-wide activities that result in continuous improvement in the changeover process.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Proficient in preparing machines for changeovers and mold preventative maintenance.
  • Properly perform preventative maintenance and make repairs to ensure dependable and safe operation of machines and equipment.
  • Proficient at troubleshooting and making repairs on all pertinent machines and auxiliary equipment to meet facility scrap and efficiency key measures.
  • Performs changeovers for related equipment in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Proficient in all safety and housekeeping requirements.
  • Perform other related duties as required

 

Job Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Minimum of one-year stable and verifiable work history.
  • Demonstrated mechanical capability and a minimum of two years’ experience in a technical related field required. Technical certificate preferred.
  • High school diploma/GED required.
  • Must possess basic math skills.
  • Must have working knowledge of hand and small power tools.
  • Must possess good communication skills to ensure that clear and concise information is communicated as required.
  • Must be a self-starter, self-motivated and able to work independently.
  • Must be a good listener, having the ability to receive instructions over two-way radios, and other communication devices.
  • Must be able to multi-task.
  • Must be able to become certified on operating forklift, scissor lift snorkel lift and overhead crane.

Working Conditions:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to work overtime as well as some irregular hours. This position will work in a reasonably clean production environment.  Due to working in a production environment, the exposure to noise is constant. Seasonal weather variations may result in frequent exposure to hot or cold conditions, particularly on the receiving floor and production areas where open doors allow exposure to prevailing weather conditions. Physical exertion such as pushing, pulling, kneeling or heavy lifting up to 50 pounds is frequent. The physical demand described here is representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
