Role

We are seeking a Security Supervisor to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the day-to-day security operations at Thacker Pass, in Orovada, Nevada. The Security Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily execution of site security operations and supervising contract security services. This role ensures security procedures are consistently implemented, provides frontline leadership during incidents, and supports the Security Manager in maintaining a safe and secure environment across Lithium Nevada operations. Other areas may include Lithium Nevada properties located in Orovada and the Lithium Nevada Administrative Office located in Winnemucca, Nevada. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a mission-driven organization committed to innovation, sustainability, and leadership in the clean energy sector.

The role is based at Thacker Pass and reports to the Security Manager. Occasional travel to other LAC offices, project sites, or vendor locations may be required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular walk-throughs and security inspections at Thacker Pass.
  • Implement and enforce established security policies, procedures, and site security standards.
  • Help to ensure compliance with laws, regulations, policy, guidelines, and record-keeping requirements.
  • Conduct routine security assessments and identify operational security risks, escalating findings and recommendations to the Security Manager.
  • Oversee the daily performance of contract security personnel and ensure compliance with service expectations, post orders, and site requirements.
  • Review incident reports for completeness and accuracy before forwarding to the Security Manager.
  • Serve as the on-scene security lead during incidents and emergency response activities until relieved or directed by the Security Manager.
  • Respond to after-hours security incidents and provide leadership until additional resources arrive.
  • Assist in implementing loss prevention initiatives developed by the Security Manager.
  • Conduct initial investigation of crimes against our property or employees and report immediately to local authorities. These may include misappropriation, theft, industrial espionage, threats, due diligence, computer crimes, competitive intelligence, accidents, claims, conflicts of interest, assault, harassment, employee vetting, litigation support, etc.
  • Provide operational recommendations to the Security Manager and site leadership regarding daily security concerns.
  • Ensure day-to-day compliance with established security procedures and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain effective working relationships with local emergency responders and law enforcement and assist the Security Manager with external coordination.
  • Builds and maintains trusted relationships across all teams while championing a culture that reflects and supports our Purpose, Vision, and Values.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • 5-8 years of combined law enforcement, military, industrial security, or related field.
  • Extensive knowledge of security protocol and procedures.
  • Experience working with law enforcement and emergency response agencies.
  • Strong decision-making during emergency situations.
  • Knowledge and experience with security systems to include CCTV, Access Control, Intrusion Detection, and Integrated Systems Technology in support of Physical Security
  • Knowledge and Experience with Physical Security Operations.
  • Excellent personnel management and supervision skills.
  • Ability to work with confidential and classified information.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills 24/7 availability to respond to incidents and/or Threat.
