Job Title Quality Engineer – Level 1

Location: Camden, NJ

Job Description:

Holtec International is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Level 1 Quality Engineer to support the implementation and maintenance of quality systems and processes. This role is essential to ensuring compliance with internal standards, customer specifications and applicable industry codes and regulations. The Level 1 Quality Engineer will work closely with the Quality Manager, production teams, project managers and suppliers.

 

Specific Areas of Responsibility:

  • Assist in the development and tracking of key quality metrics and reporting to management.
  • Support calibration programs for inspection and test equipment.
  • Review purchase orders and incoming material certifications for compliance with specifications and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in internal and external audits, surveys and surveillances.
  • Review of quality records to verify acceptability and compliance.
  • Support nonconformance investigations and corrective/preventive action processes.
  • Collaborate with production and engineering teams to resolve quality issues and improve processes.
  • Assist in training personnel on quality processes.
  • Perform oversight at vendor facilities and during construction activities.

 

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 1 year of quality assurance related work; or high school diploma and three years of quality assurance related work; or five years of quality assurance related work.
  • Familiarity with industry codes and standards such as ASME Section III & Section VIII, ISO 9001, NQA-1, and 10CFR21.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

 

 

Optional Additional Requirements:

  • Experience with NDE methods:
  • Knowledge of dimensional inspection tools (e.g., CMM, FARO Arm).
  • Training or familiarity in corrective action processes.
  • Prior experience in a manufacturing facility.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and quality management software.
  • Experience with procedures.
  • Prior experience working in the nuclear industry.

 

Salary Range: $70,000 – 85,000 Annually
