- Develop Level 1 and Level 2 PRA models for internal and external events during full power and low power / shutdown operating modes.
- Thermal-hydraulic analysis specialization: support RELAP5-3D and MELCOR modeling to simulate core and containment response for severe accident scenarios that inform PRA quantifications.
- Logic modeling specialization: support development of event trees and fault trees used to quantify key design risk metrics including core damage frequency (CDF) and large release frequency (LRF).
- Support PSA model maintenance and updates that occur periodically as the SMR-300 design matures
- Use PSA results to support implementation of risk-informed programs; for example, Regulatory Treatment of Non-Safety Systems (RTNSS), Design Reliability Assurance Program (D-RAP), 10 CFR 50.69 risk-informed categorization and treatment of SSCs.
