Job Description

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

Responsible for keeping our laser-guided vehicle operations running smoothly and efficiently.  This will be achieved by addressing and correcting LGV machine faults, ensuring trailers are LGV load-ready, keeping the end-of-the-line equipment running (Palletizers and Pallet Labelers), keeping both units and work area clean, and maintaining the data integrity of the product inventory moved by the LGV’s.

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES

  • Ensure LGVs stay up and running by addressing alarms and faults from LGVs and end-of-line equipment including but not limited to palletizers, pallet labelers, and Injection Molding machines.
  • Prep & approve trailers for automatic loading of Products by LGVs, Verify trailer paperwork and Data, and secure loads.
  • Conducts light general and preventative maintenance ensuring the LGVs operate properly.
  • Assist with back-of-line changeovers and ensure the product is not mixed and is properly labeled.
  • Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma or GED and two (2) years’ experience with performing light preventative maintenance, machine changeovers, production equipment operation, and LGV or AGV operation.
  • Have basic math and computer skills.
  • Good written and oral communication skills required.
  • Good organizational skills required.
  • Must be able to think analytically.
  • Good hand-eye coordination.
  • Must be self-motivated with strong initiative.
  • Able to learn and follow established procedures without deviation.
  • Must enjoy working in a fast-paced manufacturing production line environment.
  • Must be able to work in a team environment.
  • Must be able to work hours necessary to complete assigned tasks and overtime as needed.

ESSENTIAL MENTAL AND PHYSICAL FUNCTIONS

Mental Functions

Non-repetitive and somewhat diversified job requiring continuous mental alertness or very close visual attention.

Physical Functions

Constantly (67%-100%) required to stand. Frequently (34%-66%) required to walk.  Occasionally (0%-33%) required to climb, stand, sit, and lift up to 50 pounds. 

EQUIPMENT USED

Analytical lab equipment, calculator, computer, forklift or powered industrial trucks, production line equipment, LGV’s and sanitation equipment.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

None required.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Must be able to speak, read, write, and comprehend English proficiently.
