The opportunity
This key position on the Target team is to profitably drive sales and market share growth in the Target Men’s underwear and socks business. The role will be responsible for the analytics, tracking and tactical execution in driving well thought-out profitable sales and marketing strategies across a legwear categories delivering sales and profit growth. This role is responsible for collaborating with HBI and Target cross-functional teams, with a focus to drive topline sales and increase share. With the shift of retail to online, this role is responsible for developing Omnichannel strategies which include significant ecommerce growth objectives. This individual must be an influencer, analytical, a self-starter, a collaborator, a good communicator and have a strong desire to drive the business.
The role
- Develop business relationships in order to drive business with key Target retail stakeholders. The individual must be able to (1) identify, compile and filter data from various sources internally and externally (2) evaluate the data to form conclusions (3) turn the conclusions into well thought out strategic road map and (4) communicate, drive and execute the strategic road map into incremental profit and growth.
- Exhibits understanding of the marketing and sales process with the ability to communicate and execute against key strategies to drive both sales and profitability.
- Accountability for continuous and comprehensive sales action plans to achieve goals – display ability to execute short term and long term opportunities in managing results.
- Partner internally and with Target/Roundel to develop and execute seasonal marketing plans and align to coop budget.
- Manage online assortment with focus on evaluating and optimizing offerings to drive online/digital sales and profitability.
- Work with merchants to procure budget and floor space for upcoming assortment additions.
- Serve as a communication link between the Target and the HBI internal team, Director of Sales, customer operations, customer service, marketing and merchandising and other cross functional areas on program execution.
- Must quickly develop an understanding of Omni Channel processes, strategies and financial metrics to communicate and collaborate with Hanesbrands business partners to drive incremental business.
- Gain knowledge of specific brands, product categories, competitive brands and retail merchandising best practices.
- Plan and Track the trade and budget plans to effectively deliver growth and profit.Â
- Tracking of annual financial and sales plans in conjunction with Director of Sales
The requirements
Education/ Experience
- Bachelor’s degree (BA, BS) required
- Prefer 2+ years of previous sales or retail experienceprevious e-commerce and Target selling experience a plus
- 5+ years of relative experience required
- Must possess strong quantitative and analytical skills with exceptional reporting capabilities
- Exhibits strong problem solving and communication abilities.
- Demonstrates effectiveness in management of multiple projects
- Proven ability to take initiative and possess strong sense of urgency
- Exceptional computer skills required: MS Office (strong Excel and Powerpoint skills)
- Subscribes to the highest standards of business ethics and Global Code of Conduct
- Travel Required
