Position Summary

 

Orlando Health is a 3,200-bed system that includes 15 wholly-owned hospitals and emergency departments; rehabilitation services, cancer institutes, heart institutes, imaging and laboratory services, wound care centers, physician offices for adults and pediatrics, skilled nursing facilities, an in-patient behavioral health facility, home healthcare services in partnership with LHC Group, and urgent care centers in partnership with CareSpot Urgent Care. Nearly 4,200 physicians, representing more than 80 medical specialties and subspecialties have privileges across the Orlando Health system, which employs nearly 22,000 team members. Position Summary

Directs daily workflow and assists the Imaging Services Supervisor, Imaging Services Manager, and/or Imaging Services Director.

 

Essential Functions

  • Adheres to Orlando Health mission statements and strategic imperatives.
  • Assigns team members to specific rooms necessary to coordinate patient flow.
  • Initiates service recovery and involve supervisor and/or manager as needed.
  • Plans and prioritizes exam scheduling and processing that support the needs of the patients and physicians.
  • Actively participates in the quarterly QC and ensures it is completed.
  • Is an active participant in the ACR accreditation process.
  • Provides input to supervisor for evaluations/coaching plans.
  • Participates in interviews for potential team members.
  • Acts as a resource for new team members and students and assists in training of new technologists.
  • Exercises professional judgment in performance of services and maintains a demeanor complimentary to quality care.
  • Complies with all state and federal regulations applicable to the modality.
  • Utilizes all corporate radiology computer systems effectively and accurately.
  • Responsible for performing mammography exams and related procedures as outlined in the Mammography technologist job description.
  • Applies principles of radiation safety to minimize exposure to patients, self, and others.
  • Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards.
  • Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.

 

Other Related Functions

  • Maintains cleanliness and organization.
  • Maintains a cooperative work environment in the department and reports noncompliance to manager or supervisor.
  • Reports equipment issues to appropriate personnel and enters service requests.

 

Education/Training

  • Graduate of accredited school of Radiologic Technology.
  • Must have and maintain CME points as mandated by MQSA.

 

Licensure/Certification

  • Valid Florida state license.
  • Valid Radiology / Mammography registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification.
  • BLS/Healthcare Provider certification required.

 

Experience

  • 2 years of experience in Mammography is required.
