Responsibilities
Essential Functions
⢠Reviews preferences and verifies the case cart thoroughly before the procedure.
⢠Maintains an orderly surgical field and consistently passesinstruments and supplies quickly and efficiently to the surgeon.
⢠Anticipates and prioritizesthe needs ofthe varioussteps associated with the procedure.
⢠Takes part in sponge, needle, and instrument counts as dictated by the procedure.
⢠Maintainssurgicalspecimens in a manner that identifies and preserves them for pathology evaluation.
⢠Assists in ordering and stocking specialty supplies under the direction of management staff and in accordance with departmental guidelines.
⢠Transports and delivers items, equipment, and medications (excluding controlled substances and IV chemotherapy drugs) throughout the facility.
⢠May have limited accessto areas where medications are stored.
⢠Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
⢠Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.

⢠Demonstrates awareness of legal issues, patientrights, and compliance with the standards ofregulatory and accrediting agencies.
⢠Practices efficient use oftime and supplies.
⢠Maintains a clear,safe, and organized work area.
Qualifications
Education/Training
High school graduate or equivalent.
Successful completion of:
⢠Surgical Technology training program; or
⢠Orlando Health Training Program; or
⢠An accredited physician assistant program
Licensure/Certification
Maintains current BLS/HealthCare Provider certification.
ExperienceĀ
Must have 1 year.
