Position Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Concrete Superintendent to oversee civil and site concrete construction projects. This position is responsible for managing daily field operations, supervising crews and subcontractors, and ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project specifications.

We are looking for a strong field leader with extensive concrete construction experience, excellent organizational skills, and a commitment to safety, quality, and production performance.

Key Responsibilities

Project Oversight and Coordination

  • Supervise and coordinate all field crews and subcontractors

  • Interpret construction plans, specifications, and civil drawings

  • Develop and maintain daily and weekly work schedules

  • Ensure compliance with project requirements, codes, and specifications

  • Coordinate inspections with owners, engineers, and subcontractors

  • Ensure foremen complete accurate daily reports

Field Leadership

  • Provide clear direction and leadership to field crews

  • Resolve jobsite issues and maintain productivity standards

  • Mentor and evaluate foremen and field personnel

  • Assist in manpower planning and task sequencing

Safety Management

  • Enforce OSHA regulations and company safety policies

  • Conduct daily jobsite safety meetings and hazard assessments

  • Ensure compliance with PPE requirements

  • Document incidents, near misses, and corrective actions

Quality Control

  • Verify forms, rebar, embeds, elevations, ADA compliance, and layout prior to placement

  • Ensure proper concrete mix design, slump, testing, and finishing procedures

  • Conduct punch list inspections and ensure corrective actions are completed

  • Maintain high standards of workmanship and minimize rework

Scheduling and Documentation

  • Track project progress and update schedules as needed

  • Review daily logs including manpower, equipment, and materials

  • Monitor delivery tickets, pour logs, and field reports

  • Communicate delays or issues promptly to management

Equipment and Materials Management

  • Coordinate equipment usage and maintenance

  • Ensure timely delivery and proper storage of materials

  • Prevent waste, loss, and misuse of company assets

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Concrete Superintendent or similar supervisory role in civil/site concrete construction

  • Strong knowledge of concrete construction methods and field operations

  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications

  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills

  • Knowledge of OSHA safety regulations preferred

  • Structural Experience

  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and crouch for extended periods

  • Ability to lift 50–90 pounds regularly and up to 150 pounds with assistance

  • Ability to navigate active construction sites and uneven terrain

  • Ability to work extended hours, weekends, and travel to job sites as required

Work Environment

  • Outdoor construction environments with exposure to dust, noise, grease, and heavy equipment

  • Regular interaction with moving machinery and active construction operations

  • Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated areas
