Responsibilities

Milieu Coordinator (Adolescent) Week-ends

 

The Milieu Coordinator participates in ensuring the efficient functioning of the therapeutic milieu along with the Chief Clinical Officer (CCO) through developing both immediate and ongoing strategies to maintain the therapeutic milieu; provides ongoing supervision of the Mental Health Technicians Consistent communications with the Registered Nurses on shift, Director of Nursing (DON), and the Chief Clinical Officer (CCO). 

  • Supervises Mental Health Technicians (MHT) on their shift, delegating duties bases on resident needs and individual staff members abilities.  
  • Develops and supervises, with the Program Director, the implementation of specific interventions related to individual residents, small groups of residents, or the entire resident community within the program
  • Monitors resident actions/behaviors and staff interventions within the program.
  • Ensures assignments for cleaning and linen distribution to residents are completed timely Completes: all Performance Counseling documentation; 90-Day Performance Evaluations on all assigned new staff members; and completes all Annual Performance Evaluations on all assigned staff members. Program Director to review evaluations and participate in discussion with staff members.
  • Works with PM and CCO to ensure program activities are developed, updated and implemented.  Assists DON with providing an adequate staff of nursing personnel for all shifts through the development, preparation and maintenance of staffing schedules that meet the needs of the Residential Treatment Center and apply to variable census conditions.
  • Keeps department overtime at a rate of 2% or less on a weekly basis. Reports use of overtime to PR, CCO, DON, HR or Administrator on Call 
  • Plans work schedules according to predetermine monthly cycles.  
  • Maintains listing of all nursing personnel.  
  • Co-facilitates monthly nursing/psychiatric assistant staff meetings with PM and DON, and actively participates in committees as assigned.  
  • Ensures safety checks and rounds in all areas are completed as per facility policy. Interprets Residential Treatment Center (RTC) policies for staff and residents.  Answers questions and refers staff and residents to proper person when a question cannot be answered 

Qualifications

1. Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology or related field preferred. High School Diploma/GED required. Experience may substitute for education.

2. Experience: One year of experience in a mental health setting. Previous supervisory experience preferred. Positive leadership skills, excellent resident interaction and milieu management skills are required.

3. License/Certification: Must obtain and maintain CPR certification and Florida Driver’s License.

4. Skills: Demonstrates ability to communicate verbally and in writing. Demonstrates emotional stability and dependability. Must have good driving record. Verification of absence of criminal record on local, state and federal levels.

5. Physical Requirements: Extensive walking, standing, sitting, climbing stairs. Must be able to lift over fifty (50lbs) pounds.
