Career Opportunity

We are currently seeking candidates for an IT Specialist/Windows position in our Wallops Island, Virginia office. The Surface Combat Systems Center (SCSC) Wallops Island, VA requires management, engineering, operation, and technical expertise for the activation, operations, maintenance and engineering of equipment, systems and computer programs in support of all NAVSEA and PEO IWS missions.  The SCSC provides live and simulated integrated warfare capabilities in a net-centric, maritime environment to develop, test, evaluate and conduct fleet operations and training for the warfighter.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The IT Specialist/Windows will have adequate experience and training to effectively perform the duties listed below:

• Install hardware, build software, configure, and maintain Windows servers and workstations.
• Create and administer user accounts, security groups, and group policy.
• Conduct backups and system recoveries.
• Configure and manage patching solutions and log collection.
• Provide technical support to onsite users.
• Maintain compliance with DoD Security Technical Configuration Guides (STIGs).
• Investigation trouble calls, isolate faults, identify and implement corrective actions to restore information systems operations.
• Author change request documentation to support system configuration adjustments
• Monitor networks and systems for security threats, investigate alerts, and respond to incidents
• Tune detection rules and support requirements to secure complex security architectures
• Understand TCP/IP, DNS, HTTPS, command-line mechanics, unicast/multicast, and other system/networking knowledge

Travel

• This position includes a low level of travel.

Education, Knowledge or Certifications Required  

• Bachelor’s degree within the last five years in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, Software Engineering or similar degree as listed in the DoD 8140 listings from an ABET accredited or NCAE designated institution. 

OR  

• One of the following certifications: 
• CompTIA Cloud+ 
• CompTIA Security+ 
• GIAC Global Industrial Cyber Security Professional (GICSP) 
• Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP) 
• Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP) 
• Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) Security 
• CompTIA SecurityX (formerly CASP+) 
• Federal IT Security Professional-Operator-NG (FITSP-O) 
• GIAC Foundational Cybersecurity Technologies (GFACT) 
• GIAC Security Essentials Certification (GSEC) 

OR

Qualifications

• Active DoD Secret security clearance is highly desired, however candidates who are eligible to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance will be considered. If the selected candidate does not hold an active clearance, he/she will receive a contingent offer. A start date will be established once an interim Secret clearance is granted. 

• U.S. citizenship required.
• Must have reliable transportation to and from various work locations.
• Must maintain the capacity to communicate with their supervisor and/or manager when not in the office.
• Must be available to work varying shifts and weekends as required. 

Physical Requirements

• Sitting for long periods of time, standing, walking, crouching, and kneeling.
• Reaching, handling, using equipment, keyboards, and mobile devices.
• Ability to lift items weighing up to 20 lbs.

In compliance with Virgina’s Pay Transparency Act, the minimun salary for this position is $60,000 per year and the maximum salary is $75,000 per year. The minimum salary excludes applicable benefits, bonuses, or performance spot awards. T-Solutions considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, education/training, and key skills.
