Your Role in the Kitchen

As a Cook at Willow Valley Communities, you will play a key role in executing refined menus with consistency and care:

• Reads menu, procures food from storage areas and utilizes standardized recipes to prepare food items for the meal period.
• Measures and mixes ingredients accurately. Reviews any modifications to recipes to meet quality standards with Cook 2, Sous Chef or Chef.
• Observes and tests food being cooked by properly taste testing and taking food temperatures using proper ServSafe procedures and guidelines.
• Food preparation and cooking skills include but are not limited to: measuring, washing, peeling, cutting, grilling, baking, roasting, broiling, steaming, carving and portioning foods.
• Monitors food quantities and quality during the meal period in a menu, buffet or display cooking setting.
• Maintains a cleaning schedule to assure work areas are kept clean and sanitary.
• Assures kitchens and related areas are set up and cleaned up using established cleaning guidelines and checklists.
• Practices the proper operation of equipment to ensure personal safety and avoid damage to equipment.
• Responsible to assure proper records are maintained for food production and ordering within the food management system.
• Follow Willow Valley’s HACCP plan and all related food safety policies and procedures.

What We’re Looking For

• Minimum 1 year of line cook experience, preferrably in an upscale environment
• Strong attention to detail and pride in execution

• Passion for delivering excellent food and service

Available Schedules

Full-Time 11:00 AM – 7:30 PM

• + 2 weekends on and 1 weekend off & some holidays
