Role Overview

 

As a Battery Sorter, you will properly identify, and sort batteries based on the chemistry/type. 

You will tape the terminals of the batteries and pack batteries using bags and boxes.

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Ensures health and safety is the number one goal by following warehouse safety 
    procedures and processes
  • Identify and sort batteries by chemistry
  • Taping terminals/ends of batteries
  • Sort out debris and non-conforming material
  • Store batteries and non-conforming material in drums
  • Label drums according to regulations and guidelines
  • Weigh and document material
  • General cleaning
  • Comply with all environmental, health and safety regulations
  • Sit or stand for most of the shift
  • Some locations may require operating a forklift to transfer material
  • All other duties as assigned

Qualifications

 

Required:

  • Frequently lift 10-40 pounds individually, and over 40 pounds with a team member
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Attention to detail
  • Basic math skills
  • Teamwork and communication skills
