Job Summary

We design and manufacture custom machines for a variety of industries. We’re looking for an experienced machine builder to join our team and help us create the high-quality products our customers have come to expect. The ideal candidate will have experience in machine building, as well as a strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems. He or she will be able to read and interpret blueprints and schematics, and have the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

In this role, you will be responsible for the construction of machines according to specifications, using a variety of hand and power tools. You will also be responsible for the installation of electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components. Once the machine is built, you will be responsible for testing it to ensure it meets all specifications.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Leadership & Oversight: Acts as the point person for the team. Providing guidance, assigning tasks, and ensuring work is done to standards.
  • Decision-Making: Makes operational decisions, troubleshoots complex issues, and escalates concerns
  • Training and Mentorship: Train new technicians, coaching new team members, and holding workshops with new employees.
  • Communication: Serves as the liaison between technicians and Supervisors/Managers.
  • Administrative: Fill out KPI’s, supporting customer documentation, inventory checks, and other assigned duties.
  • Develops and Maintains key project tooling and equipment list, alongside engineering; including financial responsibility.
  • Assemble Products, machines, or vehicles from start to finish according to engineering drawings, using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment
  • Install electrical components, such as motors, switches, sensors, and PCB boards following wiring diagrams.
  • Align and fit parts according to specifications, using measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges
  • Operate machine during test runs to verify functioning, making adjustments as necessary
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of work area
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints
  • Follow all safety guidelines and procedures
  • Assist in the development of assembly processes and procedures
  • Perform regular maintenance on machines and equipment
  • Diagnosing problems with machinery and making repairs or replacements when needed.

 

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a mechanical technician
  • Manufacturing experience, preferably in automotive/manufacturing industries
  • Preferably 5+ years in machine building/mechanical experience
  • Experience working in fast pace, dynamic environment, with limited supervision: self-starter.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to read blueprints
  • Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment
  • Experience with soldering small components
  • Basic math and computer skills
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to work in a cross-functional team.
  • Possess leadership skills and ability to be led in a manner that is healthy to our gifted and rich culture.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field
  • Experience with automated assembly lines
  • Solid understanding of quality control standards
  • Welding Experience

  • Must be able to access and navigate all areas in the facility and access all machinery.
