Receiving Associate

Job Description 

Unload trucks, qualify material within inventory system, label, and stock shelves. 

Responsibilities 

• Operate forklift to unload shipments from freight carrier trucks to be received in the building, specifically raw metal deliveries in South Lyon. 
• Count, sort, and qualify incoming packages to verify receipt against packing slip and bill of lading. Visually inspect for damage on all shipments. 
• Receive into Inventory System.  
• Label incoming goods accordingly with MCWW labels. 
• Stock shelves and work with management to maintain a clean and organized work place. Practicing First-In-First-Out Inventory strategies. 
• Help maintain the flow of waste in the plant. 
• Report any discrepancies in receiving and inventory to your department manager. 
• Help keep the receiving area, main aisles and parking lot  free of skids, debris, and anything else that may cause excess traffic. 
• Other duties as assigned. 
• Overtime and weekend work are sometimes required
• Ability to communicate interdepartmentally via email and speech
• Ability to read and compare analytically manufacturer and Motor City Part Numbers

Qualifications/Skills 

• Microsoft Excel experience 
• Net Suites and/or an equivalent ERP system experience 
• Forklift experience 
• Organizational skills 
• Attention to detail 
• Communication skills 
• Basic math skills .
• Reliable transportation to travel between the 3 plants in South Lyon, Northville and Wixom

Physical Demands 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, lift, and reach with hands and arms.  The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
